Fri Jan 27 - Sun Jan 29 - Summing up a great weekend with Swami

We thank Swami for all the great programs over the weekend

Fri Jan 27 PM – Energy packed, cozy satsang at the Shankaran’s in Flint with bountiful amounts of delicacies for prasad

Sat Jan 28 AM – Much needed “battery recharging” satsang by Swami at ACM. Swami also announced the 2006 goals for Satsangs in the US.

  1. Community outreach, seva and charitable activities
  2. Improved attendance
  3. Improve organization within satsangs, regions (RSCs) and N.America (NASCs)
  4. Improve eco-friendliness in ashrams as well as homes
  5. Increase culture and value-based activities
We will discuss action plans for these objectives at satsang.

Sat Jan 28 PM – Swami was the representative for the Hindu faith at the 7th annual World Sabbath Call to Peace at the Christ Church Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills. Religious leaders from the Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, Baha’I, Swedenborgian, Hindu, Antiochian Orthodox, Christian, Quaker faiths participated. It was a beautiful and grand event, with attendees from all different faiths and countries gathered had a single cause – to forgive one another, be reconciled to one another, and to commit to work together, to build a world of Justice, Equality and Peace.

Swami delivered the following words by Amma:
“The world is one family of which we are all members. The key to world peace lies with every individual residing on this planet. Only when we work together as a global family – not merely belonging to a particular race, religion or nation – will peace and happiness prevail on this earth. Though the world has become closer through technology we have not drawn closer in our hearts. A hallmark of civilization is the open-mindedness to accept differing and diverse people. The historic purpose of religion is not to build walls of division in society but to knit people together with the thread of Universal Love. The world is like a flower. Each nation is a petal of this flower. If one petal is infested it will soon affect all the other petals and the life and beauty of the flower will be destroyed. May the light of love and peace shine within our hearts. Lokah Samastaha Sukhino Bhavanthu.
